This series consists of correspondence, telegrams, airgrams, memorandums of conversation, newspaper clippings, conference proceedings, photographs, booklets, notes, and other records created and accumulated by Laurence H. Silberman during his tenure as United States Ambassador to Yugoslavia. Included are records relating to diplomatic relations between the U.S. and Yugoslavia; events and investigations involving Yugoslavian citizens and property in the U.S.; Yugoslavia's relationships with the United Nations, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, and with other nations; Yugoslavian politics; and, to a lesser extent, the Ambassador's personal affairs. Also included are records relating to Laurence Silberman's activities as the President's Special Envoy on International Labor Organization (ILO) Affairs.
